The Political Declaration on Strengthening the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences arising from the use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas is the first international recognition of this problem. Endorsed by 83 states in Dublin, it contains commitments to review and develop military practice and assist affected communities.

This event will highlight actions being undertaken to implement the declaration ahead of the first meeting to review implementation which will take place in Oslo, Norway, in April 2024.
