On 24 April 2024, the morning after the official conference, two thematic workshops will be convened. The discussions are open to representatives of government, armed forces, civil society and international organisations, and all participants should be encouraged to stay on and take part.
The two workshops will be on 1) military policies and practices and 2) humanitarian access and assistance to conflict affected communities. The workshops aim to:
- Provide space for in-depth, substantive, and interactive discussion on identified priority implementation areas;
- Support national level implementation of the Declaration, by both looking at policy review and development, and changes in practice;
- Enable sharing of ideas from different experts and other stakeholders that can better inform collective work around the Declaration;
- Provide a space for promoting good examples of policy and practice;
- Use content of discussions, and publish these in written form to provide guidance for implementation work and operationalisation of the Declaration by endorser states subsequent to Oslo;
- Help continue to build an informal network of people from this community and through this multi stakeholder approach.
